Citably.

  How it works

How Citably
works.

Buyers ask AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity for recommendations. The AI reads a handful of sources and cites a few of them in its answer. Our job is making sure you’re one of the sites it trusts enough to quote.

The check-up

Five passes.
Plain English.

Every engagement starts with the same five checks, in the same order, on every site.

  1. 01

Can AI tools even read your site? (crawler access)

ChatGPT, Perplexity, and the rest all send out automatic readers to look at your site. Plenty of sites block them by accident, or leave the door open without meaning to. We test the major ones against your site’s rules and what actually happens when they show up.

  2. 02

Does your site carry the labels AI relies on? (structured data)

Think of these as name tags on every piece of information on your site: who you are, what you offer, who runs it. Without them, AI has to guess. We check whether the right labels exist and whether they’re connected to each other.

  3. 03

Would an AI quote your pages? (citability)

AI answers are built out of short, self-contained sentences lifted from real pages. We score every paragraph on your site for whether it’s the kind of line an AI could lift as-is, or whether it’s too vague, too long, or missing the point.

  4. 04

Is your brand mentioned where AI looks?

AI tools trust a handful of places, like review sites, forums, and industry directories, more than they trust your own homepage. We check where you already show up, where competitors show up instead, and where the gaps are.

  5. 05

How do you stack up against competitors?

We ask the AI tools the real questions your buyers ask, and record what they answer, who gets cited, and where you land next to the competitors already in the running. That becomes the baseline everything else is measured against.

What gets fixed

Same site.
Different odds of being cited.

  1. Unreadable to AIReadable by AI
  2. UnlabeledLabeled
  3. Buried claimsQuotable answers

The ladder

Diagnose. Implement.
Maintain.

A first look doesn’t commit you to anything. Four tiers, one ladder, and you only move to the next rung when it makes sense.

  1. DiagnoseSnapshot
  2. Audit
  3. ImplementSprint
  4. MaintainRetainer

Snapshot and Audit are diagnostic only, so you can decide with real numbers instead of a sales pitch. Sprint ships the fixes. Retainer keeps the work compounding after that. See the full ladder and what’s included at citably.co/#offer.

The result

Ask the question.
See your name in the answer.

Being cited means a buyer asks ChatGPT or Perplexity the question they’d normally Google, and your brand shows up in the answer, with a real link back to your site, not a mention buried nine links deep in a search results page.
