Crawler access
We test every URL against the 14 AI crawlers that currently shape AI search results. Each is fetched with the production User-Agent string, headers spoofed, and the live HTTP response captured.
Findings
- 01GPTBot blocked at robots.txt line 14. ChatGPT cannot read the site.
- 02PerplexityBot blocked at robots.txt line 18. Perplexity has zero retrievable content.
- 03OAI-SearchBot blocked. ChatGPT’s newer browsing mode cannot index.
- 04Google-Extended blocked. Content excluded from Gemini training set; Google Search still allowed.
- 05ClaudeBot, anthropic-ai, Bytespider, CCBot: allowed implicitly via `User-agent: *`. Three of these were almost certainly unintentional.
- 06Cloudflare Bot Fight Mode is on with no AI crawler exemptions; we observed 403 responses to ClaudeBot from a fresh IP despite the robots.txt allow.
Impact
Six of the seven engines we benchmark cannot fetch your content under their declared User-Agents. The 34/100 composite is capped here until this is fixed. Estimated lift after unblocking + a Cloudflare allowlist: +18 points within 14 days.

Schema discovery
JSON-LD validation across the six entity types answer engines actually consume for B2B SaaS: Organization, Service, SoftwareApplication, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Person. We check both presence AND the @id graph that links them.
Findings
- 01Organization JSON-LD present but missing `@id` anchor and missing `sameAs` (no LinkedIn, no Crunchbase, no GitHub).
- 02No Service JSON-LD across the 4 product tiers visible on /pricing.
- 03No SoftwareApplication schema on the product page.
- 04No FAQPage schema despite a visible FAQ accordion on /pricing.
- 05No BreadcrumbList site-wide. answer engines lose hierarchy context on every page beyond /.
- 06No Person schema for the named founder visible in /about.
- 07Existing Organization schema fails Google Rich Results Test on one field (`address.addressCountry` is country name not ISO code).
Impact
Your entity graph is disconnected. answer engines treat your brand as a string of text, not a referenced entity. This is the single biggest non-content lever for citation lift. Estimated 6-7 schema blocks added would move this pass from 17 → 78 in a Sprint.

Citability scoring
Every paragraph, list item, table row, and pull-quote across the 47 indexed pages is scored on three axes: length (80–280 chars), density (≥1 stat or proper noun), and self-containment (no antecedent pronouns). The score per passage is 0.0–1.0; the page-average is what answer engines optimize against.
Findings
- 01Average passage length on /pricing: 38 characters. Below the extraction floor. Answer engines will not quote these.
- 02Hero passage is gerund-led (“Helping teams ship faster”). No concrete claim. No number. Unciteable.
- 03/features uses pure bullet lists with no surrounding context. answer engines cannot extract a defensible quote because there’s nothing to quote. The value claim lives in the heading, the proof lives in the bullet, and they’re never collocated.
- 04Long-form posts on /blog are structurally well-formed (h2, h3, paragraph) but unscored: no `dateModified`, no Article schema, no author entity, no `wordCount`.
- 058 of the top 12 product pages exceed 4-clause sentences. Above the AI-extraction comfort window.
- 06Zero pull-quote blocks across the site. The single highest-citability passage type is missing entirely.
Impact
Even with crawlers unblocked, the content itself is hard to quote. 5 page rewrites (hero, pricing, features, 2 cornerstone posts) lift the average from 0.41 to ~0.72. We rewrite, we don’t recommend.

Brand-mention scan
answer engines cite the sources they trust. We crawl the 11 platforms most-cited by ChatGPT and Perplexity for B2B SaaS queries (Reddit, Quora, Hacker News, G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, Wikipedia, Product Hunt, Indie Hackers, plus two industry directories) and map your current footprint against where the answer engines actually pull.
Findings
- 014 brand mentions discovered total. 1 G2 listing (incomplete: no screenshots, no category claim). 1 Reddit r/SaaS thread (neutral, single comment). 2 directory listings (both outdated: old pricing, old logo).
- 02No Wikipedia presence. No Quora answers. No Capterra listing. No TrustRadius profile. No Product Hunt launch.
- 03Across 70 reference queries seeded with your buyer’s actual ChatGPT prompts, the answer engines cite Wikipedia (12×), G2 (8×), Reddit (6×), and your top 3 competitors (8× / 6× / 5×). Your domain is cited twice.
- 04Founder LinkedIn presence: 1 post in the last 90 days. Three competitors’ founders post 3-5×/week.
- 05Zero podcast appearances. Zero conference talks indexed. Zero press placements in Southeast trade publications.
Impact
answer engines have nothing to point at. A 90-day placement plan adds ~12 high-quality mentions across the platforms answer engines actually quote. Retainer territory.

Platform benchmarking
We run 70 reference queries (10 per engine across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Bing Copilot, Gemini, and Grok) using your buyer’s real prompts (e.g. “best [category] for Atlanta SaaS”, “[category] tools for SOC 2 environments”). We log the answer, the sources cited, and the gap between your brand and the consensus.
Findings
- 01ChatGPT: cited 0 times across 10 queries. Top citations: Wikipedia, G2, Competitor A.
- 02Perplexity: cited 1 time across 10 queries (a tangential mention in an answer about a different topic).
- 03Google AI Overviews: cited 1 time. Competitor A appears in 7 of 10 AIOs for the same query set.
- 04Bing Copilot: cited 0 times. Likely IndexNow not enabled. Bing Copilot lags Bing index by 7-14 days for new content, and you’ve been pushing weekly.
- 05Citation gap is largest on “best [your category] for Southeast B2B SaaS” queries. This is where you should win on positioning. Currently the SOC 2 compliance angle goes to a coastal competitor that has a fraction of your in-region traction.
- 06Sentiment of competitor citations is mixed-neutral; you have no narrative control over how your category gets framed because you’re absent from it.
Impact
Baseline established. Quarterly target: 24 total citations across the same 40 queries (12× current). Achievable with Sprint + 90-day Retainer.
